A cheap item that has to be replaced every year or two can end up costing more than one quality piece that lasts for decades. If you count not the price on the shelf but the cost over its whole lifetime, the more expensive but longer-lasting choice is often actually cheaper.

Before buying a new decor piece, it's worth asking yourself one question: will I still like this in five years, or only now because it's in fashion? A durable handmade concrete or microcement piece is a safer choice here than a trendy trinket that dates quickly: it doesn't go out of fashion the way colour and shape trends do.
